1) Making the art for the Exploratorium, a hands on museum in San Francisco.

As an Artist-in-Residence, I made a set of 15 metal shapes and worked with their excellent team in the design of a room to display these mathematical sculptures.

I designed the files for water jet process of cutting steel, then bent and bolted the pieces together, and picked the colors for powder coating to seal the metal.

2) Photographing the art work, choosing the images, and using photoshop to perfect the pictures.

3) Writing the text and researching the mathematical ideas to explain the ideas for readers ages 7 and up.

4) Making diagrams to explain the ideas in the text with watercolor, colored pencils, graphite pencils, and laser cut paper models, with Illustrator and Photoshop.

5) Curating the whole book to help the reader to see these 15 shapes tell a story of 3 interconnected symmetries.

In 2016, I ran a Kickstarter Campaign to get this 223 color book printed.
